A ROMANTIC ADELINE FARMS WEDDING IN WOODLAND, WASHINGTON

Some wedding days have a story before the ceremony even begins, and Stone and Chase's definitely did.

When Chase's original wedding dress didn't arrive when expected, months passed beyond its anticipated delivery date. With her wedding getting closer, she did what any bride would have to do: she found another dress she loved at Brides for a Cause.

And then, naturally, the very next day they located her original dress from Crown Bridal and shipped it.

Both dresses were nonrefundable.

So Chase did the only reasonable thing: she wore both.

And honestly? I can't imagine this day any other way.

Stone & Chase's Woodland, Washington Wedding

Stone and Chase originally met online, and what started with a dating profile eventually brought them here, to a summer wedding surrounded by the people they love at Adeline Farms in Woodland, Washington.

One of my favorite parts of their wedding wasn't something perfectly styled or planned. It was watching the relationships that already existed around them.

Stone is a dad, so this wasn't only about two people becoming husband and wife. There were these beautiful little family moments woven throughout the day, too the kind of moments that remind me why I photograph weddings the way I do.

Years from now, those are the photographs I think will matter most.

Getting Ready at Adeline Farms

One of the things I noticed immediately about photographing a wedding at Adeline Farms is just how thoughtfully the property works for photographs.

There isn't one single "pretty spot" that every couple has to use.

From the indoor getting-ready spaces to the barn, the outdoor ceremony setting and the different areas throughout the property, we had so much variety without ever needing to leave the venue.

That matters more than people realize.

A wedding day moves quickly, and the less time we spend traveling between locations, the more time my couples get to actually experience their wedding.

And Adeline Farms even has golf carts available to get around the property, which might sound like a tiny detail until you're in wedding clothes trying to get from one beautiful photo location to another. It was such a thoughtful touch.

Two Dresses, One Very Good Wedding-Day Story

And then there were the dresses.

Chase's two-dress situation may not have been the original plan, but it turned into one of my favorite details from the entire wedding.

Her dresses came from Brides for a Cause and Crown Bridal, and she incorporated both looks into the day, including changing into her second dress for the ceremony.

Sometimes the unexpected parts of a wedding become the things you'll remember forever.

This was definitely one of them.

An Outdoor Ceremony at Adeline Farms

The outdoor ceremony space at Adeline Farms was beautiful.

There is something about being surrounded by the greenery and open landscape of the Pacific Northwest that makes an outdoor ceremony feel incredibly romantic without needing to overdo anything.

Adeline Farms also handled the florals for Stone and Chase's wedding, which made everything feel cohesive with the venue and its surroundings.

But as beautiful as everything looked, my attention during a ceremony is always on the people.

The glances.

The hands reaching for each other.

Family watching from the rows behind them.

The split second after "I do."

Those are the photographs that tell you what the day felt like, not simply what it looked like.

Why I Loved Photographing a Wedding at Adeline Farms

This was my first impression of Adeline Farms as a photographer, and it was such a good one.

First, the owners were wonderful.

They were kind, helpful and genuinely seemed invested in making the day go smoothly. Wedding vendors spend a lot of time behind the scenes together, and having a venue team that is welcoming and willing to help makes an enormous difference.

Second, there are just so many beautiful places to photograph.

I could move from indoor getting-ready photographs to the barn, ceremony, family portraits and couple portraits while giving Stone and Chase's gallery completely different looks throughout the day.

That variety is something I look for when I'm photographing a wedding venue.

And finally, the property feels intentionally designed around an actual wedding day, not simply around looking pretty.

There's a difference.

Adeline Farms manages to do both.

If you're considering getting married at Adeline Farms, from a photographer's perspective, there is a lot to love.

You have indoor and outdoor photography options, several different backdrops throughout the property, a beautiful outdoor ceremony location and plenty of room to create variety in your wedding gallery without spending your day traveling somewhere else for photographs.

My biggest piece of photography advice would be to leave room in your timeline to explore the property together.

You don't need hours.

Even a small pocket of intentional portrait time gives us the opportunity to hop on a golf cart, chase beautiful light and make photographs somewhere away from the activity for a few minutes.

And those few minutes together often become one of the only times during the entire wedding day when a couple gets to be somewhat alone.
